Rooney speaks to the media ahead of his final England match

Storylines: The USMNT is still without a full-time coach, with many believing that this will be interim manager Dave Sarachan's final squad selection. Dortmund midfielder Pulisic returns to the fray, and will team up fellow young stars McKennie, Adams, and Weah.

Meanwhile, Rooney's inclusion in the England camp has caused a stir, many those within the media have questioned the need for a farewell match. Though his appearance is definitely the headliner, Callum Wilson and Lewis Dunk earning call-ups is equally intriguing.

New faces: Goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann may be (potentially) earning his first cap, but his father Jurgen is quite familiar with the USMNT after serving as coach. The twenty-one year old is in his second year at German side Hertha Berlin, and has featured in the USA U20 team on multiple occasions.

He sits firmly behind Guzan and Horvath in the rotation, so the chances of seeing him between the pipes against England are slim. For England, Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson earns a well-deserved cap, taking advantage of his excellent early season form. Wilson has six goals and four assists through only four Premier League matches, tied for fourth in each category. Seeing him on the pitch Thursday is a real possibility, most likely coming on as a substitute in the second half.

Who got left out: Getting into the England squad at this point of his career is a longshot, but Glenn Murray's form the past two seasons have definitely crossed Gareth Southgate's mind. The thirty-five year old journeyman scored twelve goals for Brighton in 2017, and has backed that up with six so far this campaign. Murray certainly does not add much value for Southgate's long-term plans, however seeing him suit up with the Three Lions would be fun. Midfielders Phil Foden and Lewis Cook both find themselves on the outside looking in, yet their time will surely come on the national team.

A familiar face will not be traveling to Wembley, as captain Michael Bradley was not named in the squad. After a grueling season with Toronto FC and featuring in recent USMNT squads, Bradley's exclusion likely comes as simply a break. Now a highly controversial figure, many fans will not be disappointed that Adams and McKennie will instead be leading the attacks from central midfield. However, no matter who eventually takes the reigns as manager at the end of the year, they will require Bradley's expertise - making his return imminent.

Players to watch: Outside of the big names, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a player that could have an impact if featured in the match. Though struggling to consistently break into Sarri's Premier League starting eleven, Loftus-Cheek has impressed in the Europa League, scoring three goals in the same amount of games. Due to his physicality and creative ability, the United States will struggle to cope with his playing style.

An up-and-coming standout on the USMNT is Timothy Weah, son of former soccer star and current Liberian president George Weah. At just 18 years of age, Weah plays at PSG with Mbappe and Neymar, training alongside worldclass players. Able to play at forward or on the wing, he has one goal in Ligue 1 and could pose a threat for either Chilwell or Shaw if given the opportunity.

Weah has a goal and an assist this year for the USMNT

What to expect: When we last saw the USMNT, they were being exposed down the left-hand flank by both Colombia and Peru. This deficiency still remains, and the speed of Sterling, Sancho, and Rashford will do Antonee Robinson and Jorge Villafana zero favors. Sarachan will likely line up in a 4-1-4-1, putting the role of Pulisic - who is often a central attacking mid - up in the air. Pulisic's connection with McKennie, Adams, and Acosta will be crucial to the US' success going forward, as Bobby Wood will be ineffective as the lone striker up top. The matchup between the pair of Miazga and Brooks and England's striker will be a key one to watch.

Prediction: 2-0 England
